本集的 “Culture Club”所介紹的簡短英文句子，你可能已在電影，甚至出入境及日常生活聽過的。

1. 生日的祝福語：“ Happy Birthday ”當然是正確及常用，但“many happy returns”都是十分常用及得體的祝福語。

2. 海關官員的問題：“ Have you anything to declare? ”是你不可不知的，意思是你是否要申報一些進入境內的貨品、行李及金錢。

3.「酒吧語言」，在英國，到pub輕鬆一下，跟朋友相聚是生活的一部分，“ a pint of ”是酒吧內啤酒的量詞。

4. 婚禮、婚宴上：“Here ' s to the bride and groom”意思是為新人舉杯。

5. 拍照時，大家會以“ say cheese ”，互相提示要笑得燦爛，因為“ cheese ” 的發音令你咧咀而笑。

6. 講一些虛構故事的第一句是“ Once upon a time ”，因此，若你祇是講過去的事情，這一句是不適當的。

7.「快餐語」“ To eat here or take away? ”意思是「堂食」，還是外賣呢 ?若你把食物拿走，回答是 “ Take away, please. ”

“ Time & Time ”看看「未來」可如何表達，present continuous tense 常用以表達一些已安排的未來事情或動向：

(a)	I am meeting some friends next Sunday.
	即你已跟朋友相約，在下星期天一聚。
(b)	Kelvin is attending a Putonghua course next month.
	即他已報名，或頗肯定，將讀一普通話課程。
(c)	Kelly Chan is leaving for Taiwan.
	即 Kelly 將會前往台灣，這是已安排的。

“ Take the challenge ”為你介紹一個將句子連貫的方法。看看以下兩句：

(a)	She smiled at me.
(b)	She opened the letter.
	可連成一句：
(c)	(1) 、 (2) Smiling at me, she opened the letter.

方法是(1)把其中一個 active voice verb 變成 present participle(即 V+ing)，(2)是刪除 “ subject ”，放上逗號 (，) ，便可把兩個actions 組成一句。

再看一例子：
(d) Peter arrived late. (e) Peter apologized.
(d) 及 (e) 可連以下句子：
(f) Apologizing, Peter arrived late.
(g) Arriving late, Peter apologized.

(1)	Come out ：	出現、面世：
	(a)	The bride comes out well in the video.
		即錄影帶所拍攝的新娘子，十分清楚。
	(b)	Another return of “ Harry Potter ” is coming out.
		新一集的“ Harry Potter ” 快將面世。
(2)	Come over ：	到訪(較隨便)
	Mei :	I have no plans for the weekend.
	Aunt :	Come over to my place.
		即 Aunt 請Mei到家中一聚。
(3)	Come and go ：	人事、世事的來來去去等
	(a)	Uncle ' s headache comes and goes.
		指他的頭痛間中發作。
	(b)	People come and go.
		可用於多個情境，如一些親友前往外地或歸來，及公司的人事變遷等。
