NOW

After performing tracks from his own personal homage to one of the greatest pop bands in history live in Studio One in 2004 - tracks from his platinum album Funky Abba - Nils Landgren's Funk Unit has gone on to do more great things other than continue to make excellent music. Nil's passionate interest in humanitarian aid work led him to start Funk For Life© that recently brought the project to the slums of Kibera in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. The Funk For Life© project complements the advancements being made by Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) by generating funds for the MSF HIV/AIDS project in Kenya and raising public awareness about the precarious health conditions in these slums. It goes further by providing interactive activities for children. The 'man with the red trombone' and his friends distribute musical instruments and provide musical education, believing that something can be done to help these children towards a better life through music. Landgren's credo is 'music knows no borders, music is freedom'. It is music for change . . .
