廖錦萍 Liu Kam Ping. Kelly (6D) Public speaking is an individual speech to live audience directly. Every single body language and word we use can influence the audiences a lot since the outcome strongly affects the way people think about us. Therefore giving a speech can cause so much anxiety and concern. I, as a secondary student, have do a lot of public speaking for the competitions and assessments. I love having audience to listen to my view and be persuaded by me. Therefore, I hope I can present my thoughts more lively and naturally. Hence, I would like to polish my ability to create a friendly atmosphere to my audience.
陳凱雪 Chan Hoi Suet, Summer (5A) I have joined speech festival for several times. There is always something I can learn from. To understand the meaning of the poems so we can speak in the right pace, not too fast or slow. To be in the situation so that we can have the emotion the poet wanted to express. To act like you are telling a story but not showing you are reciting and fulfilling the requirements of the teachers. I really enjoy public speaking, no matter it is solo verse or speech contest, as it is a chance to share my feeling with the audience.
許遙 Hui Yiu, Yoyo (5A) I want to gain more confidence and experience by joining different speaking contests and doing presentations in front of others. I enjoy doing presentations a lot. It is so interesting as I need to attract listeners to listen. I need to think of an interesting topic and attractive ideas so as to make my speech appealing to the audience. Doing presentations does not only help me gain confidence, but I can also learn more about different topics and be creative through doing research. I hope I can learn more from other competitors in the competition and improve my speaking skills.
