譚梓樂 Tam Tsz Lok (Form 3) Ludwig Wittgenstein once said, "The limits of my language are the limits of my world." As a student born in a metropolis like Hong Kong, I feel that it is essential for us to perfect our English since language is the most powerful tool we have. We need it for everything. I am honoured to have the opportunity to take part in the RTHK speaking competition as the competition can expand the boundaries of my universe. I am determined to acquire more English knowledge and become an advanced English learner one day.
徐暐喬 Tsui Wai Kiu Omar (Form 3) Public speaking is a fine opportunity for me to widen my horizons, sharpen my speaking skills as well as increasing my exposure to the public and the media. Like many other students studying in local schools, I do not use English as my mother tongue. Only by reading more, speaking more, listening more and writing more can I develop my language proficiency effectively. Public speaking can create favourable conditions for increasing my English proficiency and thus, I am glad and eager to participate in public speaking competitions.
陳皓星 Chan Ho Sing (Form 3) I think public speaking presents us a great opportunity to develop our speaking skills and makes us more persuasive, engaging and entertaining when speaking to others. When I enrol in the competition, I expect to learn from peers, hone my speaking skills and gain valuable experience in word usage and delivery style. An additional benefit of this highly competitive event is that I can show more awareness of the environment and threats endangering our earth.
