梁嘉敏 Leung Ka Man (4A)It was never expected. Just a year ago when I was browsing the Internet, I came cross a video, "Julian Treasure: How to speak so that people want to listen". I was overwhelmed, and could not leave my eyes off the screen. It was a stunning ten–minute talk that successfully grasps people's attention. Then, I wonder if it is possible that I could be like him one day. Will I deliver speeches that draw everyone's attention? Therefore, I am seeking opportunities to improve myself, to be a powerful English speaker.
陳文慧 Chan Man Wai (4A) Being a core member of the school's English Debating club, I possess the opportunity to stand out and speak in front of the public. Over the course of F.2–4, my team has taken part in an array of debating competitions, such as the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Competition and the NESTA–SCMP debating competition. By reading loads of researches and academic essays, I understand how to express my views on current affairs pithily. Moreover, I believe knowledge is not limited by age. Therefore, I picked up law studying as my hobby ever since I've developed the ambition to become a successful lawyer in the near future. I do hope I can always keep the stamina to learn English throughout my life!
丘兆溱 Yau Siu Chun Windsor (5A) Hi! I am Yau Siu Chun, Windsor, from Tuen Mun Government Secondary School. I would like to take the opportunity of taking part in this speaking competition to improve my speaking and communication skills. I intend to enrich my personal experience such as how to deliver my speech in front of camera. I also hope to broaden my horizon and polish my English proficiency as this authentic speaking context is not the same as the speaking practice in the classroom. And I look forward to presenting my own speech in front of the adjudicators and you.
