Dear Mr. Yang,

Hello! Could you tell me the difference between 'possible' and 'probable'?
Thank you very much!

Yours sincerely,
Jenny

Possible says something could happen = 可能
Probable means its very possible , therefore it is one degree higher than
possible = 或能

A: I know why he didn't come to the meeting.
B: I is knowing why he didn't come to the meeting.

Thanks a lot

A 是標準grammar
I is knowing .

Mr. Yang,

Could you tell me the difference between "Aim" and "Objective" .
To my understanding they are almost the same . Please also tell me in what situation they are used. Thank You.

Terence

I don't think there is any meaningful difference.

People may say 'Please give me your aims and objectives for joining our company' or 'She set out the company's aims and objectives in her speech'.

In fact when people say these, they are only being repetitive. 'Aims and objectives' is only a usage, a customary saying. One of these words will be enough.

1. "and, what is more," 和 ", and what is more,"有什麼分別?
如:
A. She learns quickly, and what is more, she remembers what she has learnt.

B. She learns quickly and, what is more, she remembers what she has learnt.

A. We sat down to dinner at six.

B. We sat down for dinner at six.

Thanks!

Simply a way of placing a comma. In this case it is not very important whether you put a comma after 'and', I prefer a comma after 'and' to make it easier for reading. Otherwise the spot where the reader takes a breath seems inconvenient.
